Dr. Nikki's List of Her Favorite Products She Used During Pregnancy

Mama Natural Week by Week Guide to Pregnancy- This book was recommended to me by a friend and fellow chiropractor.  It is so comprehensive and helpful in understanding all the things happening in your body.  It also does a great job explaining all of your options as you move through your pregnancy (types of care providers, testing options, etc.).  My favorite way to use this book was to visualize what was likely happening in my body each week, this was especially helpful early on before I had a confirmation ultrasound.  Doing this helped to ease my mind that everything was happening just as it was supposed to be.

Tru & Co Bras- I have joked that very early on in my pregnancy my breasts grew three sizes overnight, much like the Grinch's heart.  I went through a period of just trying to size up but struggled to find a comfortable size.  When I found these Tru & Co Bras I bought several and never looked back!  Comfort, support and stretch all at an affordable price tag! I got mine at Target (they happened to be running a 2 for $40 sale when I first purchased them!).

Aerie Everyday Crossover Boybrief- I was really hoping for that “all belly” pregnancy, but my body had something else in mind and my hips, thighs and booty decided to join the “growing” party.  When my pre-pregnancy underwear stopped being comfortable I had to find something new.  The Aerie Real Me Underwear have an amazing amount of stretch and are so soft and comfortable.

Rael Organic Cotton Pads- speaking of underwear….pregnancy hormones change a lot of things in that region, I felt more comfortable wearing a liner every day and these Organic Cotton ones are my favorite and even hold up to those sneeze induced leaks!

LMNT- These little electrolyte packets were a life saver for me! Not only do they increase the effectiveness of hydration (drinking less water but being more hydrated!) but it is important to remember that you are GROWING A SKELETON which is primarily made of minerals so you’ll need to get these in your diet or your body will steal them from you to give them to baby!  I could go down a whole rabbit whole on minerals and how they impact your body functions but some big reasons to supplement are -reducing swelling and muscle cramps and even improving mood/ quality of sleep.

White Barn Wellness Baby Balm Tallow- My beautiful and talented friend Jen started making vanilla tallow balm about a year ago and gave me a sample.  I was hooked from the start and have been using nothing else on my face since then.  She recently developed a “Baby Balm” full of amazing herbs to help soothe the skin, making it perfect for stretching bellies and diaper rash!

Kiziks- cute, comfy sneakers that don't require you to bend over to put them on.  Need I say more? Probably not but I will say a little more.  Bending over to put on shoes got difficult around the third trimester, but before that my feet got a little wider and my shoes got a little less comfortable.  Kiziks have a “snap back” heel so you can slide them on without adjusting the heel after.  I have had mine for over a month and have yet to untie the laces from taking them out of the box. They come in a wide width which I really appreciate!  I have a feeling these will be my favorites postpartum too with my hands full of baby. (I did link my referral link here, I genuinely love these shoes but they have a nice rewards program that benefits both parties, but please don’t feel pressure to use my link!)

Primally Pure Charcoal Deodorant- Pregnancy hormones made me hot ALL THE TIME, which meant I was sweating a lot more. My usual natural deodorant wasn’t cutting it anymore. I found Primarily Pure’s Charcoal deodorant from an account I follow on instagram and not only is it a natural and effective option for combatting the stink, they also have an auto-ship option that makes it so you never run out! (This is also a very “gender neutral” deodorant and my husband and I can both use it!).
